Version 1.6.0: The abbey waits for you

October 19, 2026

Since version 1.5.0 your abbey has learned to wait.

The abbey waits for you

  • The game now runs only while you play. Minimise the browser, switch to another tab or app, close the game or let your device sleep, and everything pauses: nothing is produced, no events happen, and the seasons stand still. This holds in the browser, in the installed app and offline.
  • Timed bonuses, the blessing and the free new task keep the time they had left and go on when you come back.
  • So there is no window about time away any more: your abbey is exactly where you left it. The hours of prayer, the feasts and the daily alms still follow the real clock and calendar.

The map shows where to look

  • When the Lands tab shows its red dot, the same dot and a pulsing ring now mark every holding whose charter you can obtain, a line above the map explains it, and the tab opens with one of them selected.

The brothers by craft

  • The list of brothers is grouped by craft: brickmakers, fishermen, farmers and scribes. Each group shows how many brothers it has and what they add (+3% per brother). A brother who holds an office shows it under his name.

Notices

  • All notices now appear in one place: at the top on phones, in the bottom right corner on computers.
  • They stay on screen twice as long, each has an icon on the left, and a tap or a click puts one away. Spoken lines show a small portrait of the speaker next to the subtitle.

On phones

  • On the Abbey tab the miniature stays in view while you scroll, when the screen is tall enough.

Buildings

  • The ×1 / ×10 / ×100 / Max switch is gone: each press builds one level. We simulated whole games: ×100 was never affordable, ×10 only in era I, and Max mostly spent what the current goal still needed.

Smaller things

  • Point at or tap an office’s portrait to see who holds it and what it gives.
  • Place names on the miniature and on the era postcards stay inside the picture and no longer cover the mill.

Thank you for playing. If you notice anything odd, write to support@choringame.com.
