Version 1.2: living sky, playing drolleries, new home page

October 3, 2026

Ahead of the official opening on 25 October, here is the first round of changes.

A living sky

  • The sun crosses the sky through the game day: low in the east at dawn, high at noon, setting in the west. It climbs higher in summer and stays low in winter, and the light on the miniature follows it.
  • The moon walks the night sky and goes through all eight phases, from the new moon to the full moon and back, one phase each night.
  • Clouds change every day, and some days are perfectly clear. Some nights are full of stars, others are overcast.

Drolleries that play

  • The creatures in the margins, the snail, the hare with a trumpet, the goldfinch and the cat with a lute, now play their own little tune when you tap them. Each one also has a short caption about medieval marginal art.

Finer art

  • A round wax seal on the abbot’s charter.
  • The abbey café got a kiosk with a striped awning, real chairs and cups on the tables.
  • The ox is yoked to the plough the proper way, and the fisherman holds his fish by the tail.
  • The solar boat now has a cabin, windows and a roof of solar panels.
  • The interlace frieze, the lion frieze, the mason, the visitor with her phone and the scribe’s desk were redrawn.

A new home page

  • choringame.com now opens with a page about the game in all eight languages. The game itself lives at choringame.com/play/.
  • Your progress stays where it was. If you already play, the home page shows your chronicle and you continue with one tap. An installed game opens straight into the abbey.

Small fixes

  • The “While you were away” window now appears only when something actually piled up.

Thank you for playing. If you notice anything odd, write to support@choringame.com.
