Version 1.2.2: what’s new after an update, and more history set right
October 7, 2026
A small update on top of version 1.2.1, which brought the dark theme, the installable app and the estate after 1542.
You will know when the game changes
- After an update the game now shows a short window “Chorin has been updated” with a link to these notes. Your progress stays exactly where it was.
Chorin today, without the Middle Ages
- In our own time no ox carts set off for Oderberg any more, and the brick kiln no longer smokes.
- Of the abbey mill only the fieldstone foundations remain by the entrance, as in the real Chorin.
- The scaffolding goes up only once the rescue works begin, after Schinkel’s visit.
Water and mills
- The abbot’s decision on water now offers a second mill by the fishponds instead of a copy of the mill that already stands on the Amtssee. Around 1400 the abbey really ran eleven water mills.
- The chronicle page on water is corrected: the Nettelgraben, a channel several kilometres long, brought more water from the Lake Parstein basin to the abbey, its ponds and its mills.
The map
- While the monks still live on the island, Chorin appears on the map only as the future site. After 1542 the abbey loses its cross: it is now a state domain.
Small things
- After 1542 the grange belongs to the estate rather than to the lay brothers.
