Version 1.10.1: A clearer end of era I, and honest nights
October 29, 2026
Since version 1.10.0 we played again, slowly and with very little input, and wrote down every moment that did not add up. Here is what we fixed.
The end of era I
- Without the full chronicle, the abbey rests at the end of era I, and both ways on, unlocking the full chronicle or beginning the chronicle again for free, are on the first screen of every phone, tablet and desktop.
- A chronicle finished without the purchase rests too: you can still read the finale and share the abbot’s charter, and you choose how to go on.
- Beginning the chronicle again for free keeps your pages, achievements and friezes, but brings no Legacy. Legacy comes with a new chronicle once the full chronicle is unlocked.
- One tap on the buy button opens one checkout. If the payment cannot be reached, the game says whether you are offline or the payment is unavailable, and the price still shows.
- The texts of a resting abbey fit the era you are in and change at once when you switch the language. Nobody is shown at prayer while the abbey rests, and the Chronicle tab promises no new pages.
Day and night
- At night, every resource’s tooltip says what really runs: the kiln banked for the night, the fish traps, the mill, the night watch, or that nobody works at night.
- Whoever nurses the sick stays with them through the night, and repair reminders wait for the dawn. A natural event that comes at night no longer asks for work, or for a tap on its sign, before the morning.
- “Ice again” comes only after a thaw.
- At nightfall the tooltips speak of the evening’s last work, and no snow falls while the ice thaws.
Choices
- A choice window left open keeps its times current and says “(until nightfall)” when it should.
- The answer that gives away less now stands first.
- A choice can be answered only once, even with a quick double tap.
- A choice that cannot be answered at night now waits for the dawn, with a button to decide later, instead of holding its window open.
- The wandering guest’s request reads more naturally.
In the picture
- The mill grows with its level: a second wheel, an upper storey, a hoist gable and a side bay.
- The round buttons on the picture, over a running hardship and above the guest, no longer cover doors or the west front.
- The badges and the “+N” tags on the miniature are easier to tap on phones.
Smaller things
- In era V, the community goes to the service instead of to prayer.
- With every frieze found, day seven of the daily alms brings a bigger gift, still within a fair limit.
- Every gift is fair: echoes, calendar days, feasts, blessings and the margrave’s gift bring about a minute of income at most, never a share of your stores.
- The update bar can be tapped during the tutorial too.
- The abbot’s charters stay with you when you begin a new chronicle.
