Version 1.3.0: a fairer chronicle, your language on the map, a clear price
October 13, 2026
The biggest update so far. Players in eight languages played the whole chronicle on phones, tablets and computers, and this version is built on what they found.
A fairer chronicle
- The whole chronicle now takes about 13 hours at normal pace, and the five eras are much closer in length. Era I, about two and a half to three hours, is free to start.
- Winter is gentler on the fields (a small harvest instead of almost none), and autumn brings in more.
- When you move to Chorin, the new site starts with ten minutes of double bricks, fish and grain, and you can give your abbot a name on the way.
- Your land charters can now be improved with silver, up to three times.
- If a task doesn’t suit you, you can draw a new one every 30 minutes (↻).
- Era III: the monument decays more slowly and each repair restores more. To reach 1797, keep the ruin at 40% or better for 20 minutes of play; the goal button now shows how long is left.
Echoes and events
- The abbot’s water decision (the second mill or new fishponds) now echoes in era II.
- Choice events no longer come one after another: at most one every eight minutes, and the same one never twice within three quarters of an hour.
- Events keep to their place and time: storms and ice only where they belong, and no visitors on an island that has no one to visit it.
- In era V the whole game speaks of the people of Chorin today and their visitors: the headings, the offices and the guest at the gate, not an estate.
Easier to read
- Place names on the miniature and the map are in your language.
- Numbers are tidier: “5” instead of “5.0”, “600K” instead of “600.0K”, and very large numbers move on to the next unit instead of showing “1000.00B”.
- Centuries are written as “13th c.”, and “Your chronicle” keeps to the order of the years.
- The chronicle bar moves in tenths of a percent at the start, so you see it grow from the first minutes.
- When you move someone to a new office, the game tells you which post is left empty.
Phones, keyboards and the charter
- On phones all five resources fit on one line, and notices appear at the top instead of over the goal button.
- Windows are never taller than the screen: the text scrolls, the buttons stay in view.
- The abbot’s charter uses the name you just typed when you save or share it, Esc closes the full-screen view first, and every decision of your chronicle is listed in the finale.
- The buildings, places and brothers in the miniature can be reached with the Tab key, and their tooltips show on focus.
The price, plainly
- Era I is free to start. The whole chronicle is one purchase of €9.99 (VAT included). No subscription, no ads.
- If it isn’t for you, write to us within 30 days and you get your money back, no questions asked.
Texts in all eight languages
Hundreds of small corrections: clearer wording, consistent names, the right quotation marks, and charter texts that no longer assume the abbot is a man.
