Version 1.4.0: Chorin speaks

October 15, 2026

The abbey has found its voice since version 1.3.0.

Chorin speaks

  • The abbot, the brothers and, in later centuries, the people of Chorin now say short lines in German: when the bell rings for Lauds or Vespers, when a building is finished, when pilgrims knock at the gate, when the seasons turn.
  • Tap a brother and he answers, each in his own voice: the brickmaker, the fisherman, the farmer, the scribe.
  • The night prayers are whispered, as they would be in a quiet church.
  • After the Reformation there are no more monks, so you hear villagers, travellers and officials; today, guides and visitors.
  • A short translation in your language appears under each line. German players hear the line alone.
  • The voices are calm and rare, and stay silent during the tutorial. You can switch them off in Settings → Sound → Voices. They work offline too.

New pictures

  • The start page now shows the game in your own language.
  • Every picture of the abbey on the start page, in the press kit and in our posts shows the medieval Chorin; today’s Chorin stays a surprise for the last era of the game.
  • The history of the abbey is shown in larger pictures, and the start page is calmer to read.

Clearer terms

  • Our terms, privacy policy and refund policy are now also available in English, and our support address is shown as plain text everywhere, also in the game’s settings.

Thank you for playing. If you notice anything odd, write to support@choringame.com.
