Version 1.8.0: A living year

October 26, 2026

Since version 1.7.2 we played the game the way many of you do, calmly and with long pauses, and made the abbey’s year feel alive.

  • Guests keep their own pace: the pilgrim comes every few days, never twice in one day and never at night. The margrave, the abbot of Lehnin and the other visitors come one at a time and stand in the picture while they stay.
  • Each season brings three to five natural events, and together they touch every resource, Faith and silver too: late frost, wet clay, a dry east wind, low water, warm summer rain, a snowstorm, and milder days after the first ice. The first ice comes once a winter.
  • Weather you can see and hear: storm clouds race across the sky, trees bend, rain falls and thunder follows the lightning, with no sun and no birdsong in a storm. At night the stars turn slowly; by day birds and butterflies of several kinds fly in front of the sun.
  • Gardens, fields and orchards change with every season and lie under snow in winter.
  • At night everyone is indoors. Texts and choices speak only of what your abbey really has, and the bell shows the Faith it gives.
  • A new look: parchment leaves with gilt hairlines, book corners on the miniature and the windows, and a vermilion bookmark on the chosen tab.
  • At the end of era I your abbey’s postcard comes first, then a short look at what lies ahead for your own abbey.
  • On phones the header and the small works are easier to read, the Lands tab shows its count, and the cloud line says honestly when it last synced.

Thank you for playing. If you notice anything odd, write to support@choringame.com.
